Online settings have been suggested as viable websites for youth to develop social, emotional, and technical expertise that may positively shape their behavior on-line. However, little work has been carried out to understand how on-line governance constructions might assist (or hinder) such studying. Utilizing mixed-strategies analysis, we report findings from a 2-yr, in-the-wild study of 8-thirteen year olds on a customized multiplayer Minecraft server. Preliminary results point to a set of socio-technical design approaches shaping player conduct while additionally supporting youth interest in Minecraft-like on-line environments.
