How do I get Minecraft Windows 10 Edition for free! (Mojang News post)

This seems like a preemptive posting. There is no redeem button on the Mojang account pages as of right now. It will be there upon the release, I think.

Edit: The redeem button has appeared for me and many others! You can look it up! http://i.imgur.com/9j8pupC.png

Works for me: http://imgur.com/km6PcRN

It is so unfortunate for their support department.

I get to the redeem button on Microsoft's account and billing page, but it says there's an error. Is there a redemption deadline for this redemption?

Windows 10 is being rolled out "today"/"tomorrow" according to where you are. The button should be available at 12:01 on Wednesday morning Sweden time.

Also , I'm not seeing a redeem button. Can't wait for tomorrow, though!

For those who need Windows 10:

Manual installation is now available

Direct Links:

32bit exe

64bit exe

If you have an addon to force https open it, i.e. the link is only http.

Instructions:

Download the application. Skins

Run it and go through the steps to allow you to format the USB drive or disk to run the install.

Open the drive you installed it on and run the installer.

It will install and activate automagically.

You can also save an ISO to use later, but you must perform an update in place first so your key is activated.

I have tried the beta and it has worked perfectly.

It was delivered to me. It's amazing to see how optimized the game is. My computer's fans don’t bother to start, and the CPU is almost idle all of the time.

Are there any differences in gameplay?

Yeah, if it runs great on mobile you'd think it would run pretty good on PC too:)

Just received it. 2% CPU and 200mb on singleplayer LOL. #NEXTGEN There's a little mouse delay, but the game looks great. I wish we could tweak a few more settings like Mip-Mapping and AA. Textures tend to become mushy as time passes and the water glare may be a bit strange. Apart from that I'm satisfied with the port guys.

There is a slight delay in the mouse's movements, but otherwise everything looks amazing

I've noticed the exact same thing. Mouse acceleration seems strange too.

It's a rough port at this time. It runs on C++ so it runs extremely smooth. However, it needs some tweaking to cater to the PC gamers. It's an online game at the moment.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. But how did you access Windows 10? Did some people install Windows 10 early?
