Jason Momoa In Negotiations To Star In Minecraft Movie

A movie version of Mojang Studio's Minecraft is coming together. Presta live According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Momoa who is an action-oriented hero, is being thought of as a possible character in a film adaptation of the popular game. While no contract has been signed as of yet but the possibility of adding Momoa is an encouraging indication of the future for a film that has been put on Warner Bros' backburner. According to THR, Warner Bros originally intended to release the film in March 2022. However, production delays because of the pandemic forced the film to be delayed. The film's issues predate Covid-19. The original director and screenwriters quit the film in 2014 because of disagreements over the creative direction with Mojang.



Jared Hess, Napoleon Dynamite's director, has apparently signed on. Mary Parent and Roy Lee, Dune producers, are also on board. It's unclear which role Momoa will be playing in the film as it's unclear what elements of the game from 2011 will be featured in the film and whether we'll see fans' favorites like Minecraft Steve. The film's storyline, released by Mojang Studios in 2019, is pretty straightforward: "The malevolent Ender Dragon embarks on a path of destruction, which prompts a young girl and her group of unlikely adventurers to take on the task of save the Overworld."



Fans can expect to see more progress on the film in the near future. Presta live According to The Ankler, Warner Bros. has a lease for Minecraft rights expires in January 2023. Production on the film will have to begin before then. just another wordpress site
