"Rich, corrupt, amoral, ruthless." Such slogans can be found on the Polish poster for the movie Lone Scherfig. The creators could not have better understood the essence of the "Club for the Chosen". It is a production embodying the worst. So if you expect a nice and pleasant screening, this movie is certainly not for you. The beginning of studies at the prestigious Oxford for wealthy Allister (Sam Claflin) and Miles (Max Irons) means an introduction to a completely new reality. Not knowing anyone at the university, they are all on their own. When it seems that everything is starting to get together, they meet the wrong people. Harry (Douglas Booth) and James (Freddie Fox) are members of the spreading terror and the destruction of the elite Riot club. As two places are freeing up, novices face a unique opportunity.
So with nothing to lose, they get to work.
How to get rid of prejudices
The "club for the chosen ones" categorically shows all the worst qualities that a person can be endowed with. Believing themselves to be better, clubbers allow themselves to be generally considered unacceptable acts. They ruin, storm and hurt without even the slightest consequence.
They know that money and influence will get them out of all oppression anyway. Observing the heroes' exploits, we are disgusted with their shameful attitude, but we can not deny that in a sense we envy them. Money rushes to the right and left, they take the latest cars, they don't count on anyone, and they also study at one of the best European universities. They have everything they want, and they achieve it without even lifting a finger. Despite so many differences between them and the rest of society, we must admit that, after all, they and ordinary bread eaters have something in common. They are a quiet voice hosted in each of us.
Gloomy autumn
Have not everybody ever wanted to destroy something or say something without even the slightest consequence? Yes of course. Max Irons, Holliday Grainger Blueprint PicturesUniversal Pictures International (UPI) BFIHanWay FilmsFilm4 At first, the plot of the film may seem completely detached from reality, but after a moment of reflection it is not difficult to transfer the characters' actions to the real world. In this film, the phrase "who has money, he has power," takes on a whole new meaning.
The differences between the dissolved bourgeoisie and the rest of society are clearly visible. When it seems to us that it will not be worse, it turns out that the characters are able to come up with an even worse idea. Creators in small steps lead us along the path of complete debauchery and destruction to the climax, which completely justifies the hatred felt towards the characters. Although Scherfig brought the Laura Wade drama to the screen in a great way, you can not miss the great actor's creations. Starting with Douglas Booth or charismatic Max Irons, and ending with the ruthless and unpredictable Sam Claflina, everyone did a great job. Each character presents a different type of corruption and is devoid of different values. He creates ambiguously disgusting characters, raises extreme emotions, and finally forces him to deeply reflect on human nature. After the screening, I came up with questions that I haven't found a satisfactory answer yet. .
