Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition for absolutely no cost! You can either try Minecraft Education Edition free of charge through the trial for free or download the demo lesson. You'll need an account to get the trial at no cost, which is either an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account. The demo lesson doesn't require an account or login. Technical requirements



Minecraft: Education Edition can be played on Chromebook, iPad, Mac, and PC. Before you play Minecraft: Education Edition, make sure to read the System Requirements article to ensure your device is supported.



About the trial trial for free

The trial is limited to the number of logins (25 for teachers who have an Office 365 Education account and 10 for all other users) before a paid license is required to continue playing. Start the free trial



Follow these steps if you have an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account to access the trial for free.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you wish to download from the Get Minecraft download page. The Minecraft: Education Edition version you downloaded should be installed. About the demo lessons



Demo lessons allow you to try Minecraft Education Edition for free and without registering. The demo lessons are limited in features, such as worlds and progress cannot be saved, and it is not possible to join or host an online game. Demo lessons give you to experience a real lesson in Minecraft: Education Edition. There is no limit on the amount of times you can play every demo lesson.



Start a demo lesson



These steps will enable you to take a free lesson.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you wish to download from the Get Minecraft download page. The Minecraft: Education Edition version you downloaded must be installed. Start Minecraft: Education Edition. At the Welcome to Minecraft Education Edition screen, select If you don't have an account, make one. Click View Terms to view the license agreement. Select Accept Terms and then Play when you are ready to play. Select Start Lesson. You can gain access to lessons using the lock overlay by logging into the game using an account that is licensed, or one that is suitable to try the game for a trial.
