Each week, just at the beginning of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider employees and ask them, "What are you taking part in this week?" -- in any other case often known as: WRUP. Be part of us to see what we're up to in and out of game, and catch us in the comments to tell us what you are taking part in, too!

Going to BlizzCon? No? Why not? It's the '90s! Everybody's going to conventions lately!

Positive, it is in Southern California, and for a lot of you, that's a great distance from residence. However man, that is the '90s. They have planes now. And a few of those planes even have air phones. You'll be able to hook up your 14.4k modem to one of those and connect to your favorite Warcraft 2 BBS, perhaps play a bit Legend of the Purple Dragon from 20,000 toes. Why not? It is the '90s!

What's that? You say it isn't the '90s -- it is 2011? Nicely, in fact it's! I do know exactly what in the present day is. See this Casio digital watch on my wrist? It has the day, week, month, and yr on it. Everyone's got one -- everyone, that is, who's dwelling in the '90s.

BlizzCon, the hottest occasion of the '90s, is developing in a mere two weeks. So at present, in addition to the same old query of "What are you taking part in?" (Super Nintendo and Scattergories, obvi), I had our prime-notch writers (a lot of whom have Tripod pages) reply a bonus query: "What terrific recommendation do you've gotten for the go-go BlizzCon attending of us of the '90s?"

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend will likely be spent finishing my entry for the global Writing Contest -- in other phrases, writing like a madwoman.

As for BlizzCon -- make sure you might have loads of water along, the convention corridor is bigger than it appears! Show up for panels early, test the occasions schedule and work out what you want to hit upfront. Additionally -- comfy shoes. Significantly, you'll be in your ft pretty much all day long. Comfy footwear are one of the best!

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I will be going to a different wedding ceremony this weekend however will otherwise be on the PTR getting notes for an upcoming Shifting on tanking and healing the three new 5-mans.

As for BlizzCon, I have yet to go, but when I had to guess from previous experiences with tutorial conferences and the like, have only one bit of recommendation: Do not put on heels.

Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) (gplus.to/alexziebart) Been taking part in some Dead Island and hopefully will get a hefty amount of co-op time in with a buddy of mine. Good coop games are far more rare than they must be.

For BlizzCon, take extra shirts than you think you'll want. When you get tremendous-sweaty, cease into your hotel room and change shirts. It is higher than being smelly and uncomfortable all day.

Chase Hasbrouck First WRUP /yay. Continuing my feral soloing in undertaking in WoW (when Kuwaiti latency allows), else taking part in SpaceChem on Steam. All of the enjoyable of programming without the code!

BlizzCon: never been, however expertise has taught me all the time to follow the 3 W's when traveling: water, weight, and strolling (comfortably).

Daniel Desmond (@hazmacewillraid) I will be doing a bit of bit of PTR spelunking, making an attempt out the new dungeons and paladin modifications, but principally I will be scratching a number of more tallies into my wall with a plastic spoon, counting the times till Skyrim releases.

As for BlizzCon, this will likely be my first! As such, I'll be sticking to my guildmates like black leather seats on a sizzling summer day.

Daniel Whitcomb (@DanielWhitcomb) Since my mage and warrior are on hold till the 4.3 goes reside, I might see if I can solo me some more tier 5 for my warlock. I'm additionally playing some Aquaria and Bastion (again) on Steam, so I could do some more with these games.

My advice? Hygiene. Specifically, double-, triple-, and quadruple-test your journey bag. For those who miss something like a toothbrush or a shaving package, chances are you'll need to pay an arm and a leg to change it.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) Not taking part in something this weekend, however I will be watching a number of StarCraft 2 and League of Legends at IPL3.

Advice for BlizzCon? Hmm ... Waiting in the badge choose-up line isn't crucial if you do not must be the primary one into opening ceremonies. Simply pick up your badge while everyone is in line for the ceremonies and you'll be in and out in 5 minutes.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I am still on my honeymoon in NYC, but once i get back I am going to in all probability begin AC: Brotherhood, since my AC2 disc is scratched and I do not suppose I can end.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) I've been in Philly for a solid a part of the week, and I will be staying in Philly throughout the weekend hanging with my pal Chester. All sorts of fun might be had. Like at the moment, I ate Dutch food. We are a terribly boring people, we Dutch.

My BlizzCon recommendation: If you want to hold out with Fox, I counsel you get your request in forward of time, as a result of there are a lot of you, very few nights in beautiful Southern California, and only one Fox. Additional, I advise anyone who is just not from an area with Jack in the Box eating places to go eat at a Jack in the Field restaurant. Oh my god.

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) More LoL, I have a new champion to learn! Also extra alt leveling in WoW and really looking forward to a different select my adventure day Sunday; I am going to in all probability start earlier (three p.m.) this week and go until 5. I am going to also be livestreaming the adventure, so make sure to watch Twitter for the hyperlink and time!

Greatest BlizzCon blunder: not sporting snug and supportive sneakers. Seriously, you stand and walk so much that you're a fool if you do not. Also, the amount of pain your ft shall be in will be stunning. Additionally, drink / bring plenty of water and attempt to eat outside of the convention middle. Heaps of excellent native places to nom things at that are a quick stroll from the convention middle.

Josh Myers (@Elamqt) I am liking my army of premade and main-transferred shaman on the PTR. I also have a lone mage premade who was set up with spec/glyphs/keybinds/and so on. after which promptly forgotten. MINECRAFT GAMEMODES

I haven't any BlizzCon recommendation, though I caution all Wow Insider meetup attendees to keep away from eye contact with Fox. That is just common sense, although.

(Excellent point. This is how I select my prey. -- Fox)

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Hoping for some high quality time with my DS, but I am not sure, as I'll be working at my job, doing artwork, and it is Thanksgiving up here in Canada-land, so there's that. I'll be heading out of city Sunday night time to see my household.

BlizzCon advice? Take the health-verify:

Bring lots of water with you.

Wear comfy shoes (with insoles if mandatory). Remember to stretch your decrease again every hour or so!

Carry some protein-wealthy snacks with you -- pure food bars, dry-roasted nuts (like almonds and cashews). Con food is overpriced and stuffed with crap, and this can keep you fuller longer. /health nerd

Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) I'm a damaged record. League of Legends and WoW.

Ideas for BlizzCon: bring a bottle of water if you'll be able to, take issues gradual, wear comfy footwear, and purchase Mat McCurley drinks on the WoW Insider Reader Meetup.

Matt Low (@matticus) In a change of tempo, taking part in on my Nintendo DS. Replaying some Ultimate Fantasy VI! My faaaaaavourite Ultimate Fantasy series -- ever!

Matt Rossi (@matthewrossi) (gplus.to/MatthewWRossi) My hand is absolutely screwed up now, so bad I do not suppose I can play a lot of something. (I am typing this one-finger, hunt-and-peck model).

As for BlizzCon, I've never been.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Some Sword of the Stars with some buddies, for (possible) final sport earlier than the sequel comes out. We'll ship the previous woman off in model. I'll also be getting some critical Minecraft time in since my guild's server was down last week. Need to make up for lost time!

This can solely be my second BlizzCon, but the largest thing I picked up last yr is to be really early to something you want to go to -- panels or no matter. Apart from badge pickup on Thursday evening. It's open for hours and badges aren't restricted in the identical method seats or house is. No need to show up early for that line; go later that evening and coast proper by means of to pickup.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I will be taking pictures weddings by way of most of the marriage, which is directly exciting and terrifying. I am not the professional of the crew, so I except to spend lots of time going "Hurrr ..." The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, chill out and take pleasure in some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Cannot get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favourite approach to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're taking part in this weekend!
